Michelin or Bridgestone tyres ??
Guys,
I am due to replace my RF tyres and I am wondering which tyre has the better compound and all round performance ? Bridgestone Potenza or Michelin Pilots ?
My car is a 2.0 roadster.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

I recently put unisport rainsport 3's on the rear of mine. Very impressed so would recommend reading write ups on them as I cannot fault them.

My advice would be, whatever brand you choose ditch the runflats and get an inflation kit etc. Once you have done that the new Michelin PS4 are way way better than the Bridgestones but avoiding the runflats entirely will make a hugely positive difference to your ride and handling. Also consider the new Goodyear F1 A3. Great tyre by all accounts

none of them their just overpriced name brands used both before if you want a good brand then go for yokohamaandyf98 wrote:Guys,

Kumho, vredestein, uniroyal, hankook are all decent for a lot less too
and those pirelli RFT were the worst tyres ive bought in my life. I sold them after 3 months of neraly crashing every time it rained they cost me £200 each bloody waste of money. I repalced them with a set of nanakang costing £350 for 4 which out preformed them never again Pirelli P zero

I was a little annoyed to discover they don't do the F1 A3 yet in the M Rear size. It left me with a bit of a dilemma last week. Stick with the standard 255/35 and get the F1 A3 or to continue with my plan to go to M sizes and get the 255/40 in the F1 A2. To be fair I'm glad I stuck with my plan to go the M size as the ride is a fair bit better now, as is grip. Not sure how much I can attribute the increase in ride quality to the change to the higher profile as I also went from Conti 5's to the F1's but I imagine its most of it. I change to the M tyre size following the advice I've had from some members on here so a big thank you to them! As an added bonus the speedo will even read more accurate now, well at least it will when I change the fronts to match which I'm going to do soon now I'm happy with rears.bmwaddict wrote:+1. Personal preference for me is Michelins as they are good in wet and dry but also give good wear and feel. Had Hankooks before as I needed tyres very quickly as the tyres on the car when purchase were a) crap and b) perished on the inside so would not hold pressure.
Hankooks are good but Michelins are better. Now on MPSS which are incredible, but I depends on how you drive and whether you think just in performance or performance v wear rate.

I put Goodyear F1 A2's on my old 2.0 sport.
Ride was soooo much better, and i was pleasantly surprised at how well they did in the wet, esp on the country roads to work.
Am considering doing to same to the current zed too.

OP, out of the two I'd go for Michelins PS3 or PS4. Not sure if they do them in runflats but don't get runflats! Don't ever get them again! Plenty of options if you want a solution to non RFT, you have inflator kits and also good old fashioned space saver. Then if you're fearless there's always the likes of AA (etc) recovery...
If you're not too fussy on brands but just want a good tyre, been discussed before but possibly go with Goodyear F1's or also we'll reputed and more cost effective are the likes of Uniroyal RS3's and Vredestein.
