Forum Glitches - Timing out

Post by Matty_Z4 » Sun Jul 09, 2023 12:58 pm

Has anyone noticed recently that the forum will stop responding for 2-3 minutes and will then be fine again? When it is taking a long time for pages to load it shows as "down" on Is it down for everyone or just me https://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/z4- ... roto=https but then it will right itself with no issues like nothing has happened.

Does the forum need a few more donations to keep it going? Are we being throttled by the service provider or do we have some kind of database/storage issue in the background that needs looking into.

Forum Glitches - Timing out

I have noticed similar behaviour in the last few weeks. For me it can take 30 seconds to a minute to load a page (any page), but then 5-10 minutes later it is fine again and loads at normal speed (just a few seconds max for any page). I'd be interested to hear what the reason for this is also.

Same here, and also a few times, despite selecting 'keep me logged in' it logs me out.

Someone PM Jim and ask him to wind the system up. The key is hanging on a string next to the door IIRC. :D

Not noticed any issues myself. Possibly not related, but I cleared out all my cookies recently, as I was starting to get adverts appearing.

Not noticed anything, apart from all those banners we had at the top until recently. That kept slowing things down. How can I clear cookies from my iPad buzyg?
Edit, okay that did take a while to send.

Yes I now see what you mean just had to log out due to a page not loading and then took ages getting back again. Just assuming it’s our crappy Virgin internet. :?
