Rarely adds anything to the advert and encourages bumping to the top all the time.

But then again how will Andysat keep up his post count.
Nothing to do with post count-I just like to show encouragement!

I'm only messing Andy, a for sale thread wouldn't be that same without a GLWTS.

From the urban dictionary

glwts
Abbreviated form of "Good luck with that s**t." Usually said to someone trying to accomplish the impossible.
eg:- "My dream is to have sex with a supermodel."

I always thought you were wishing somebody good luck with the sale, it seems however your dreaming of shagging Kate Moss

And we've just seen another prime example where a for sale advert has been trashed due to comments.

And it's not just car for sale ad's, parts are just as likely to get the same treatment!
Daily: 2022 Mercedes GLB mileage muncher
Weekend: 2010 E89 35i, Stubby, Black Grills, Milltek exhaust, DCI, Carplay, BC Coilovers, Black Aluwerk 19" Alloys. (Parts sat collecting dust: IS diffuser, m4 carbon spoiler, FMIC)

I think it just goes to show that comments can have both a positive affect (warning others of a potentially overpriced item/dodgy history) or negative affect (misguided negative comments that ruin a seller's chance of actually making a sale). It's a shame when the latter happens, but as others have mentioned it is a public forum, and it's nice that we look after each other by trying to warn about dodgy sales. Unfortunately, it doesn't always work out that way.

I think comments should still be allowed, but can we ban idiots? I think we'd have less threads ruined that way.
