Why not get rid of all the sections and lump everything in together, then no one can post in the 'wrong' section and no more stress

After 7999 posts, I'm not sure it's ever bothered me that much Maniac. And I have Defcon 2 levels of OCD at times.
Only forum issue I have is lack of mobile version at the moment.

I think people sometimes click on one of the "Hot Topics from the home page which doesn't actually tell you what forum it's from.

Why is it that people who can't take advice always insist on giving it?

It's never bothered me,a picture of the model alongside the section name might help new members as has been mentioned.

It is true that a lot of people dont know which model they have but it does say 2009+ in the title for E89s.
You should look at bike forums if you think this is too difficult though.
The R1 forum I was on has 7 different model designations over 17 years for the R1s and 4 models over 17 years for the R6s.
They do have the years next to the models as well though, the same as here.

I have to admit though I like reading about you guys with your classic / vintage E85/6 chariots , with all your Heath robinson mods and tinkering about in your sheds I would rather members kept their posts in the correct boxes , it's not rocket science , I'm not in rant mode about this ,but I do get maniacs point , :tumbleweed: :topicclosed:

Nah, Adamski always used to get pissy about people posting in the ///M 'Special Needs' forum too - and don't get him started on people mentioning that they've got an ///M when they post

Maniac wrote:So It seems every bloody minute someone posts e85/6 stuff in the e89 areas or indeed just completely wrong areas no matter what. It's my pet hate as it gets totally confusing as people answer for wrong models etc

So the question is, is it time for the area headings to be reworked and would that make it easier for people to know and post in the right places?

Well, actually the ‘headings’ are quite clear but the discussion thread headings are inconsistent: the E89 is clear –

‘E89 Z4 discussion (2009+)’

But the E85 / E86 gives the dates underneath the heading in lower case –

‘E85 - E86 Z4 discussion
2003 – 2009, roadster, coupe, facelift’

For consistency and clarity the header should read:

‘E85 – E86 Z4 discussion (2003 – 2009)

Maybe people post on the e89 thread out of wishful thinking. Just entitle the threads the have's and have nots. :fuelfire:

Hmm . . . .we can't all be perfect and it can take time to be clear about most things.

I've got more important things to be concerned about so I'm happy to redirect and explain.
