While there may be justification in something like this (for example when it comes to highly divisive topics) the same argument can be extended to everything and would basically mean the removal of the "CHAT" areas of the site.
As an old timer on car forums I have always offered the same argument to this type of complaint, "If you dont like it, dont read it" If you come here purely for car chat and you dont want to see and read about politics.... dont read it, it really is that easy.

Just to clarify, do you mean actual politics (Tory v Labour type stuff) or forum politics (manipulation etc)?Gerry wrote:The reason I have away for so long . politics has no place on a car forum !
I don't mind the former but could understand getting fed up with the latter if I saw it.

They are so passionate that they blow people up, kill maim, and other atrocities. In Britain if you support a certain football club and go to the wrong part of a town. you are likely to get beaten up in the name of religion. Is that enough passion for you.

My response was in the context of your original post
You spoke as though getting heated was an issue - of course it isn't. We have some great politicians, we also have a lot of rubbish - but getting excited and heated when someone opposite you is talking complete rubbish or the opposite of what you believe is expected.weegeoff wrote: I would say both. But I suppose you have to discuses politics at some point. But that can get heated.
I'm not sure what your point is now you've mentioned killing people and atrocities, football clubs and religion - going a bit off tangent chap.
