Finished correcting the Beemer this evening, treated the plastics, sealed the paintwork, and gave it a coat of Auto Finesse Desire.

Time to relax now with a bottle of Rekorderlig.

Check out that paint fleck

What have you been using on yours?

Part of me wants it to rain at some point this week so I can appreciate the beading but the other half doesn't as it'll get dirty ha

So had a little running in with another car recently, caused £140 worth of damage to theirs which has been fixed and just got a quote back from BMW. Going to go with BMW (I think) because my off side wings were replaced under warranty. Looking at the car you can tell they haven't blended the paint correctly well at all! So BMW will basically be respraying the drivers side FOC.

The damage to mine was a dented wing and light scratches (too deep to wet sand) on the rear wing. Just got my quote through.....2 weeks work and it was a good job I was sitting down..........£1484.62

I would need a new wing as the dents are too close to the edge of the panel and 'apparently' the non genuine wings don't fit correctly so would need to be genuine one.

So it looks like the entire car will be getting resprayed...........

If the car comes back as it should then whilst £1484 is a large lump of cash the situation could have been worse & at least you will have a fresh start
I suspect the mismatched panels would have annoyed you to the point of wanting them sorting at some point anyhow ?
Will it be done for the Turnpike meet ?

I was at fault, i've already paid for theirs to be fixed.

I'm just deciding whether or not to get my done through my insurance, I think my excess is £350 and 4 years no claims so to claim or not to claim.

Not sure if it will be ready for Turnpike Andy, depends how busy BMW are.

Really sad to hear this :( . I was looking at your updates as a great example for mine. I guess the more you spend time trying to perfect something, the more it hurts when something bad happens. :headbang: I will try to be less obsessed about little stonechips and small scratches here and there from now on. This can happen to anyone. I didn't care at all about my previous car and no scratch or scruff could ruin my day.

Send us some pictures when Zed is back to its normal self. I hope all goes soothly from now on!

Whether or not you claim on insurance would depend I think on if you have protected no claims. If you do then claim, otherwise pay yourself and dont think about it too much.

Cheers for this!! Car looks great from the drivers side view.....for now ha!

Just going to pay for it myself then I've got more power if it's not done to my satisfaction.

I guess this is a sensible approach for a car you really like. Wouldnit be nice to lose your no claims bonus for a job that won't satisfy you.
 Well good luck!
