I am ready to buy a Z4 35is or possibly a 35i.
To decide which, I came to this forum to learn if one is better suited to various modifications than the other. For me suitable means the stage 2 mods on 92 octane to produce reliable increase in power (claimed stage 2 increases)
Car will likely be a 2009-2013 due to cost to acquire. 35is is preferred for looks. I am wanting a stock gray or blue car $20-30k.
What is the capacity of a stock 6MT and clutch to handle "stage 2 ~400tq" mods? Or if I get 7DCT I have read that a proper flash will account for torque increase and tolerate 400tq easily.
Although I will start with stock I want to buy the right platform for future power and suspension modifications. I have learned how much plans change over time and breakage so a good platform is critical to staying near budget...
Likely just the basics as I already have a highly modified Supra.
I imagine that Mods would include:
- Pilot Super sports when its time
- Air Filter
- ECU flash or equivalent I see many opinions so not sure which yet Probably call the vendors.
- Down pipes -I'd go catless if it doesn't endanger the motor, no smog tests here
- Charge pipe - what is the shortcoming of stock?
- FMIC (challenges with DCT cars?)
I did post on other forums so sorry if this is a cross post for you.
Excited to get started on my next Car Journey.
