Part Needed! New Owner

Post by Jimbo Slice » Mon Oct 30, 2017 8:26 pm

Hi all,

I hope you don't mind me asking but I've only owned my z4 a week and already the rubber trim between the boot and the bumper has vanished. Image below

Does anyone know what that part is called and where I could buy a new one please?

Welcome!

I’m not sure exactly what is missing but have tried looking on realoem.com to find the part number?

Here’s a link to the rear bumper section for a 2008 roadster to get you started!

Thanks so much Chris will take a look. Its the rubber trim that fits in where the boot door closes to on the lip of the bumper i need - the bit will clip into the 6 rectangular slots i guess...

Hi and welcome! :)

Where exactly are you referring to? Those little dashes that are visible along the bottom of the boot/top of the bumper?

Because that's normal, well not exactly. Let me explain! Nothing is missing per se but the connections of the bumper have been pushed out. Trust me. Maybe reversed too much into a curb? If you give the very top most of the REAR bumper a push it should all clip in. Listen out for it too, so you know the connection has been made. Give it a go, let me know if I've misread your photo! Or if you need to know more
