Hello - looking to purchase my first Z4..

Post by donkey-feet » Tue Nov 07, 2017 3:23 pm

Hello,

I had a brief spell (4 months) with a brand new Z4 as a company car in 2007, it was a 2.0ltr, M sport version in silver.
Now, 10 years later, My wife and I have decided to buy one as a bit of a fun car. We are in the gathering data and looking phase...
We are not bothered about engine size or mileage as long as it has been looked after and serviced regularly..

Colour - pretty much anything other than black (my other 2 cars are black). Heated seats would be nice, as well as Steering wheel buttons..

I hope to have some input into the forum.. I have experience with diagnostics, primarily on MINIs which share many common parts with other BMWs, even Z4's....(same familiy, different packaging..)... therefore lots of crossover..

There is a nice and clean 2.0 in the sale threads. Had a ton of money chucked into in the past going on the receipts that are scanned in and it's been brought back to life by a resident member. check it out.

Welcome to the forum! We are a (mostly :) ) friendly bunch here!

I think they mean this one that I am currently selling, I reckon it's the nicest 2.0 facelift out there, for pre-facelift money, to forum members..

Hi donkey feet - be worth doing a trawl back through a few posts on this very question posted by others. The 2 litre can be a fun Zed and at the price of the one suggested and at 2008 I think it's a good buy. Lots of advice offered that you should be looking at a 3 litre but I guess that depends on your price point and post facelift 3 litres are getting on a bit now so it's important to get one looked after by an enthusiast. The 3.0si is an excellent Zed. M version calls for commitment :D
Whatever Zed you end up with it will feel very special every time you go out for a drive - all the best
Now Porsche flat 6 experience, 986S & 981S.
2006 Z4MR Imola Red/Imola Red, 2008 3.0si Sport Stratus Grey/Piano black, 2006 2.0I Sport Silver Grey Facelift. MX5, TVR Chimaera, many motorbikes.
