Nightmare buying experience but glad I've got a Z4

Postby R_McC - Fri May 18, 2012 1:15 pm

Just got my first Z4 but had a nightmare buying experience.

I thought as I was buying from a BMW garage I'd get decent service but basically got treated like I was an inconvenience.

Anyway the car has made it all worth it. 55 plate with 25k on the clock in silver. Absolutely loving it.

The nightmare continues though as the tax is up at the end of the month and no v5 or new keepers part was given to me and no one from the garage will phone me back or answer emails to let me know why I have no v5 yet.

Also was trying to purchase some clear side repeaters and the company tried to rip me off by not supplying badges although they said they were included and then trying to charge me more for them.

Hopefully ownership of the Z4 gets easier soon

Hi and Welcome! Which dealer was it that gave you the grief? I assume it was one close to you in Central Scotland. I've heard bad bad reports about a couple of the ones around here.
Am sure it'll all be forgotten about once you get out in it a few times though  :driving:

It was eastern BMW near edinburgh airport. Actually ended up speaking to the owner who promised me he would sort out all my issues but still the same problems of no returned phone calls or emails. If the car wasn't so good I would be more annoyed. May have to stop driving if a v5 doesnt come through in the post soon so I can renew my tax.

The side repeaters are getting returned to Mstyle. Just need someone who speaks German to translate the german eBay site now so I can get others.

The emblems are actually not standard as part of the side repeaters, that is a separate order ...

Yeh I was aware of that after reading a few posts on here but I did email and ask before the purchase and they confirmed the emblems were complete.

Sorry to hear about your experience, but the V5 issue - did you not ask to see the V5 before your purchase? I would go to the garage if possible and insist on it being sorted out. If you are forced to take your vehicle off the road because of their lack of attention to detail then a degree of compensation is in order I feel.
Z4 - wheels, engine, seats, lights front (and back), ///M tri colour steering wheel, mud flaps and loads of other extras! Just fitted - ZHP illuminated gear lever..... Pre Purchase Checks,Getting the Best out of Dealers

Im sorry, but i cant believe that you went ahead and bought a car from this dealer after how you said you were treated.

Also, shouldnt new road tax be put on the vehicle before collection when buying auc?
