Yes I'm a little reticent to ask for pics too after that maulingRickRob wrote:Hi and welcome.
Black with black and black is a good colour choice. Just make sure it's not pitch dark when you take the pics! And then don't forget to post them here.

Hi and welcome OP.
My old zed was black, black and black. I even replaced the interior trim to black
I can't see the seats really making much difference unless there is any difference in th lumbar area which forces you further forward. Coupe to roadster makes no difference.

Mostly stock, so not terribly exiting. So far I'v added black kidney's and an S2000 antenna. Next up is pull the rims and powder coat them black. Remove all of the chrome emblems (3.0SI, Z4).
If any has any recommendations, I'd love to here them. I enjoy customizing as you can see from my 4x4 Tacoma (super charged, BTW)

I like the 'black' look, those yellow reflectors on the front wheel arches need to go too

X2. They want $70 for the clear reflectors though.Marlon wrote:I like the 'black' look, those yellow reflectors on the front wheel arches need to go too
EDIT: OK. Bit the bullet and ordered them
I did order a clear 3rd brake light lens sense mine is chipped, looks like previous owner used it as a trunk handle.
Thanks for all the warm welcomes! I gotta say that I like your forum and the good people in it.

Had my 108's powder coated and up sized the tires 225/45-18 and 255/40-18.
Shaved/thinned the BMW emblem blinkers
Added blackout kidneys
Removed all chrome 3.0SI and Z4 letters.

Like the stealth look & i'm a big fan of switching to the M spec tyre sizes but looks like you painted over the rim bolts as well ?

Yes I had the shop paint the the whole rim together. I had a set of Prius rims down a few years ago and the powder coating job that this shop does is very impressive!mr wilks wrote:Like the stealth look & i'm a big fan of switching to the M spec tyre sizes but looks like you painted over the rim bolts as well ?

Found myself checking the oil in the dark so I made hood lights.
Took apart a couple COB led W5W bulbs, soldered them up and bingo!

Wow. . .like the work you've done on your Zed Matt. (Upping the side walls to ///M sizes should make the ride a little better as well as looking good )
Like the under hood (we call it the bonnet over here) light - excellent. (You could say brilliant )
Just one thing - how about darkening the BMW logos on the indicator and bonnet boot badges? Some owners have replaced them with red and white or black and white, even carbon fibre look alike logos.

Re: Newbe ..... Just picked up an 2007 SI roadster
I like the idea of darkening the emblems but decided its time to curb the spending a bit. I ordered SS brake lines, CDV delete, M-series steering wheel. All ready added the alarm (and dealer charged $200 to program it), half cover and so on.....paulgs1000 wrote:Wow. . .like the work you've done on your Zed Matt. Before you know it, it will be $10+k in mods, thats how my super charged 4x4 Toyota Tacoma went anyway.
