New here.
I've enjoyed being the proud owner of a few Sporty LITTLE numbers through the years, so have been a member in other clubs. I guess I know the ropes by now.
However this is my first foray into taking ownership of a Z4. What are all these E numbers? I love the.colour Burgundy or Merlot, whatever, so have looked high and low for this and how found ONE in the whole of these Sceptered Isles. A few miles, I have to trek, in order to feast my eyes on the actual product, but not to worry.
It is being prepared as we speak and am taking delivery of it at end of week. Hopefully it'll be a balmy sunny day - yer sure.
It'll be a Z4 2.5i 2003 in that sought after colour Merlot, Beige leather and 60K on the clock.
I love going out on and arranging cruises.
I look forward to this new experience.

The important E numbers are E30, E46, E86. The rest you can find here:

Hello and welcome!
Looking forward to seeing pictures of your car.
Not to be confused with the food additives (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E_number), the E numbers refer to the chassis codes, with the two digits distinguishing the specific model. In Zed terms, here's what you're looking for:
2003 - 2008
E85: Z4 Roadster with soft top
E86: Z4 Coupé
There was also an Z4M version of both E85 and E86.
2009 - 2016
E89: Z4 Roadster with folding metal roof. No M variant.
2018 (estimated)
G29: Z4 Roadster with soft top.
Random fact: the E89 was the last BMW model produced on the E platform. The next Z4 will be on the G platform (there wasn't an F platform Z4). You can geek out on chassis codes here: https://www.turnermotorsport.com/t-BMW-Chassis-Codes

Welcome to the forum, it's the law to post photos of your new car, so don't fall foul of the police

Hi and welcome.
You have a huge burden on your shoulders here. Pics are important, but pics of Merlot Zeds are vital!
Enjoy

Welcome OP.
As you can see the photo police are on your case already!
But a Merlot Z4 is definitely worth some piccies as it is such a lovely colour!
Enjoy, and as far as I am concerned you can be forgiven the lack of photos if you are busy putting miles on it.

Geez give the guy a break! I don't think he's had it delivered yet!!
But in all honesty, make sure you get some up when it arrives
Lovely "eeeee" 85 you've got yourself there! Don't worry you'll get the hang of all the "e" numbers!

Not quite sure how this works yet, but just thought I would acknowledge everyone for taking time to put pen to paper and welcome me in.
As some of have so ightly pointed out, the car is not here yet. Unfortunately I am in bed, sick as a dog, with the dreaded flu, so I can't pick it up. I was trigger happy with looking through ads on Auto Trader and the E85 in Merlot, just to be politically correct, simply jumped out of the page and I just HAD to get it. I'm sure you know the feeling.
I'm based in Claygate and have already noticed the Newlands Corner meet next Sunday, which is a bit ambitious, so I hope I'm better by February.
