Got me a Z4 (with pics)
Hey all,
New Z4 E85 2.0 owner here!
This is my 2nd car (previously had a 1.4 Golf) and I went a bit mad. Fell in love with multiple Scirocco's but found I didn't want to fork out all that $$$ when I could have something as fun as this. I managed to expand my tunnel vision and started checking out other cars; low and behold I ended up with a Z4.
Day 1: I test drove a 1 Series
Day 2: I ended up buying this....
It's probably not advisable to buy the first car you see, but it happened and I have no regrets. I guess there aren't many occasions in life you can buy a 2-seater as a daily driver, but when I saw it, I realised it was just what I needed.
I couldn't wait to get it looking it's best, so it's already seen a clay bar, wax and Autoglym soft top cleaner and protector.
Some other things I realised I need:
- Stubby aerial (research would suggest this essential )
- Retrofitted aux cable (I already have an Apple lead, can I have both?)
- Chrome exhaust tip (I don't intend on spending much on this, 20's plenty)
- I also need to replace the electric window control panel, this must have had some water damage and doesn't cost too much to swap out
- Some nice mats
- Boot liner (because I stick my folding Brompton bike in the boot for the commute to London).
- Considering Xenon light upgrade in the future
Any other suggestions would be great, otherwise I thought I would just share a couple of pics!

Hi and welcome.
Thanks for the pics - car looks great, especially the detailing job you've done.
Don't believe all you read about stubby aerials. The last poll was, by his own admission, rigged by Chris D and the Russians. Whippy's rule!

Rob
I'm just worried that when I wake up late and am rushing (most days), I'm going to scratch the boot. Saying that, most boot liners done really protect the sides.

Hi and welcome OP.
I had a 1 Series before I bought a Z4 and realised what I had been missing!
Your car looks great, especially for a 2nd car! My 2nd car was a Fiat 125 (in 1977 - I'm old)!
Unlike most on here I am neutral about aerials - my first had a whippy, next had a stubby. The only differences seem to be effectiveness and looks - whippy gets FM, stubby looks better.
Time to go and find the flak jacket! Just wish BMW had made a bit of effort; my E46 compact has no visible aerial - proper job!

Great thanks. I bought a cable anyway before checking ports in the radio, that's good news.srhutch wrote:Hi and welcome
