From what I can see the 2 litres boxes take 8 litres of oil whereas all other manual's take 7.6 litres. Regret I cannot advise oil grade but hope the foregoing assists.

spoke to anuther bmw today who relised he was reading it wrong and said it takes 1.5 liters to fill gearbox, 9 for automatic just topped mine up with some 75w90 semi as was low by 250ml sumhow must of burned it off sumehow as cant see a leak and just hitting the 99k mark after topping up gears are all smooth again so once i get the mtf lt3 ill do full change but leave the diff as dont think it needs it :)

For manuals a lot of people on the BMW forums use a 50/50 mix of Redline MTL and Redline ATF4. Also recommended by Opie Oils. I used it and I think it works very well and makes it a little smoother to shift.

Takes about 1.6 litres.
