Finally took the plunge!

Post by Simon Blythe » Sat Mar 18, 2017 8:19 am

I've toyed with the idea of getting a Z4 for a while after running a 2.8 Z3 so last weekend I picked up this little lady. She's a 53 plate 3.0l with 105k and to say I'm smitten is an understatement!

Congratulations enjoy :driving:
They still look fantastic in Sterling,( biased opinion) the last picture with the roof down is my favourite, they're ageing well in their teenage years aren't they.

Hi and welcome.

Nice looking car. I suspect that the entrants to the monthly picture competition will have a bit more competition in the future!

Enjoy :driving:

Even though I've had BMW's for a good few years, I've realised this car is a little bit deceptive and actually prefers / needs to be driven. Compared to my Z3 it does seem to punch you in the back quite so much....then you look at the speedo and realise you are pushing through 80 in 4th!! The power delivery is sublime :D
No mods planned as she is just perfect as is. Only thing needed is a new ballast for the headlight which hopefully I'll get from the breaker this afternoon.

Sometimes the crankcase breather (ccv) partially blocks up & leads to oil burning-its normally on cars that cover lots of short journeys and BMW's extended oil change intervals.
Nice looking car btw

No need at all to be concerned. They're good for 200-300k
Just check ithe level change it annually and quality filter, but itself not an issue if you follow the stated service intervals
