Good morning,
I am about to put new tyres on the back of my 2004 2.2, the tyres on are crappy budget 225/40/17, I have read online that 245/4017's are the correct tyres. I am a bit confused, can someone please advise. I am looking at Contisport 5's.
Regards
Phil

Depends which wheels you have ?
17s can run square set up or staggered depending on style & 245 40 could be your rear if 225 45 are your fronts

For 17's I'd stick with the square set up (i.e. 225/45/17 if that's what you've got on the front). This will allow you to rotate them when the time comes. (Tyres should have the most tread on the rear tyres). So when the fronts need new tyres you can switch them to the rear and use the old rears on the front... hope I've explained that adequately!mr wilks wrote:Depends which wheels you have ?
