Bits and bats to sort on my Z4
Hi All
Just bought a z4 2012 2.0i with 40k miles on the clock. Its got wear and tear as expected but I am u sure where to begin sorting these.
Steering wheel is worn on side ( light grey marks). Is it worth changing this or correcting and if so how ?
Lumbar on drivers side seat is a little worn. Is this worth getting repaired or painted over and if so how ?
The roof buttons are worn. Are these possible to replace? BMW wanted £300 to replace the entire module . Anyway to correct this more cheaply ?
Wheel caps with BMW logo and boot cap with logo all look a little worn? Worth changing ?
Exhaust pipes look dark from all the road tar and dirt collecting. Where to get silver/ chrome tips and are they worth doing?
Any advice and tips appreciated.

Machine monkey does Exhaust tips, but not sure if he does them for the 2.0. About time you got some photos on, 3 posts and still nothing

Hi and Welcome!
As mentioned have a look at ebay for replacements (or amazon). For the steering wheel I'm sure thats just dirt build up. If you get some sort of leather cleaner on there and give it a bit of TLC I'm sure it'll come up. Not too sure about the drivers bolster but you could give that a go as well. A lot more simple than re-colouring or re-leathering!

Nice looking car!
If you're still looking for replacement switches for the roof, I know of an ebay trader who has a set in stock for £70, not sure which buttons are on the switch block though. PM me if you're still looking and want his details.

buttons look like they have been over cleaned tbh. 40k miles unless all short trips (which is bad for the engine) and a lot of wear doesn't add up.

My buttons were the same, I think it's either an alcohol based hand cleaner, or some sort of hand moisturiser on the previous owner's hands that has damaged the buttons. The roof buttons are always going to be susceptible to this as you have to hold your finger on them for a while.

He'll be offering the row of seven buttons, I've already had a set from him to replace mine. However the buttons he's selling may not be a perfect match for yours depending on what options were on the car that they were removed from, you'd have to contact him to find out.
