New forum member with a coupe question !

Post by Stonecarver2 » Sun May 21, 2017 6:47 pm

Hi guys
I don't actually own a Z4 coupe yet and haven't even had a drive of one yet but I do love the looks of the coupe and have a really important question that will pretty much rule one in or out.

Is the boot suitable for a Labrador?????

I really hope the answer is yes.
Do any of you own labradors, do they fit ok????
I live in the far north of Scotland, right in the middle of the NC500 8) . The intention is to get one of these to replace my hatchback GTi as my daily drive, so long as the dog fits :D .

I look forward to any responses.

Many thanks
Neil

We had a field Labrador, which is a bit smaller than a proper Labrador.

With the boot open, the dog fits fine. But you come to problems when the dog wants to stand up or look over the bulkhead, as there's not a lot of headroom.

We've got a collie who nicely fits in the boot, being able to sit up and move around a bit. I'm sure a small lab would be the same, wouldn't stick one in there for a long journey though, it gets a bit hot back there in the sun.

Having owned several Labradors, I think it would be a tight fit. I personally would not put either of our two current Labs in the Coupe for anything other than the very shortest of journeys.

Yes a Labrador will fit. As other people have mentioned it is only a problem if they stand up.

Many thanks for your answers folks. Very much appreciated.
I live a long way from well almost everywhere else. All the journeys are long.
Nearest Chinese take away is 67 miles, nearest Indian 79 miles, nearest city is 112 miles, all our journeys are long (apart from nipping to the beach). From my experience with all of our dogs over the years, is that after the first 5 miles they just curl up and sleep. So I suppose the biggest issue is, can they sit up and turn around? Well we have two labs at the moment and 1 year to go on the PCP agreement. Sadly by the point the PCP agreement finishes we'll most likely only have the 1 lab. He's only a 4 month pup at the moment, but I suspect he's gonna be a more slimline version of the breed but we'll have to wait and see.
I think I need to test drive a coupe and take my dog along too.
Love to see more pics Philbo909, how does you dog look with the hatch down, whats the clear space between the screen and bulkhead like??
Thanks for the link to the other thread NickeDE

Hi TR4man
Would you be so kind as to post a picture of your lab in the coupe so I can get an idea of what we are talking about.
Cheers man

Hi folks,
I went for an M135i 5 door instead. Absolutely loving it.
Still got a hankering for a Z3 or Z4 but I needed a little more practicality.
Best wishes and adios amigo's
