Z4 07plate, 3.0si replacing MSport seats
Hi folks, finally did the mid life crisis thing and splashed our on a 3 litre Z4, what a great car. Sadly the seats aren't great for me, can anyone suggest a replacement for the M Sport seats current;y installed? I understand that there may be an issue with air bag warning lights if replacing?
Many thanks for your assistance.
Chris

E46 M3 seats are a plug and play fit. Apparently. I've just bought a pair to see if this is really true...

I'd be really interested to hear, are they heated too? Can't be worse then the M sport ones for comfort!

the SE seats are a straight swap -
your sports seats are much more desirable - and valuable - I've seen them go for 500+
SE seats are cheaper, for most, less desirable, I've seen those go for under 100.
I found sports seats less comfy, so swapped in some SE seats on my 3.0si that i sold. Those were manual and I'm sure theres a little more leg room than the electric sports seats.
strangely, the sports seats in my M are very comfy.....i dont know if theres much (any) difference, but i wouldn't change them
oh the airbag light - you can get a box of eBay that'll delete that- think it was cheap, also the early and late cars have a slightly different occupancy sensor i understand, so if you swap seats, check that they're compatible there also. (i had no issues, but made sure seats were correct age).

Thanks Steve, really helpful, is there any third party alternative to the BMW seats?

They'd better be, otherwise I will be well pissed with the seller !Chris22091966 wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2017 12:06 pm I'd be really interested to hear, are they heated too? Can't be worse then the M sport ones for comfort!
I already have top of the range sports seats (nappa leather, electric, memory, heated, lumbar) in my E46 Touring, and love them. I have done 12 hour drives in the car and was perfectly comfortable throughout. Unfortunately very few standard E46s received these seats so they are hard to find second hand. E46 M3's tended to have the options fitted so that's why I have bought a pair. Fitting in a couple of weeks.

Chris i am in Alconbury not that far from you and have the standard seats in my zed, you are welcome to pop by and see (feel) the difference. I find that they are more comfortable but they dont grip you when you are pressing on in the bends.
3.0l Silver SMG, whippy and ginge fringe/ Sound gen mod/ Media bridge fitted (bluetooth and audio streaming) / Clear third break light/ Hard Top/ Eibachs springs and DLV back box/ Roof motor in the boot/ plus lots more.
