Newbie with yet more roof problems!
Hi everyone!
A regular reader but first time poster!
I was on my third roof motor (in 8 years) and it now seems likely that's failed too.
I managed to put a small hose into the motor location and syphon out a bucket full (slight exaggeration!) of water
From what I've read in this forum it looks like relocation to the boot must be the way to go.
I'm in Buckinghamshire but happy to travel to wherever necessary.
Not sure I can PM anyone yet due to being a Newbie but if any of the relocation guys could PM me it would be much appreciated, especially as the sun is out!
Cheers

If you are willing to travel, I can sort that for you in about an hour, without replacing the motor.
Email me @ [email protected] and I'll send you my number.

You should now be able to pm people ,
This should be bowsers profile an you can pm him from there, don't worry if doesn't respond straight away it can take a few days , an it stays in your outbox until he reads it, so don't think it's not work ed when it doesn't disappear

Newbie with yet more roof problems!
Hi,
Thanks!
I'm just outside Leighton Buzzard, and just back from a 330 mile round trip to Ducklakeview (Mike) for the roof motor relocation!
I was expecting a Pygmy with 10 foot concertina arms, but disappointingly Mike was quite normal!
He's done a great job with the resurrection of the existing motor and the relocation in the boot and all done within the hour.
Just need a bit of sun
Thanks!

Normal, me? Erm....
Was good to meet you Martyn, hope you kept that roof down all the way home..
Just for info, the OP paid to have his motor replaced about 2 years ago.
On removal, it was apparent that the garage had tried to waterproof the casing at the joint with instant gasket, however they had also drilled "drain" holes in the bottom, allowing the water it sits in even easier entry...
