Service book - and schedule details

Post by charlie8 » Tue Jul 04, 2017 12:59 pm

Hi

Having purchased a car with only recent local garage servicing ie oil, air filter etc I am at a loss to know what should have been changed when etc

I look on ebay to try and locate empty service maintenance booklets, but show up about 3 varieties and within most of those, show the same simple tick list of oil, inspection I, inspection II etc so not a lot of help.

I guess what I am after is what should have been done when eg g'box oil, coolant, plugs etc Then I can possible just to tick off what I know and then address what I don't.

What would you suggest ? What does the normal service booklet look like on a 2007 and I can then at least purchase the correct empty booklet to put into my wallet

BTW I have TIS, but not yet really explored it - does it list in there ?

Thanks

It goes

Oil service

Insp 1

Oil service

And then repeats

IMHO the book intervals are too long anyway. Have a google for lifetime BMW maintenance schedule and see what you think of that, especially if you're going to DIY.

Thanks all, very useful. Also found this from a few searches.

I am slowly finding my way around the car and trying to ID the nasties. Thanks for service book details, I'd like to get a blank and start piecing the work I have done into the last 2 years of back street garage receipts I got when bought as the only history - just says oil and filters
