I've not tested it on mine yet but I expect the inner lights are halogen and come on with main beam (as well as the main beam of the xenon light). The main purpose is for flashing the headlights as Xenon lights are slow to light up.

if memory serves i think the inners on the 86 are dummy lights but i may have been told that by that crazy little voice in my head.

Hi and welcome from a fellow Coupe owner OP.

Sorry I can't help you with your question as my current Coupe has the Halogen candles. :( But it looks like someone will be able to give you an answer soon!

Did anyone mention photos yet? :)

The answer is yes the inner lamps do come on with full beam (they are halogen inners) the outer being Bi-Xenon mean that both dip and full operate with the Xenon feature...here's a picture of mine taken moments ago (anything to help) :D

Thanks for your answers but that now gives me a bit of a problem as both my inner lamps are out so that's my job for the weekend, hope it's just bulbs

The design for xenon's changed with the facelift and there are no inner lights - halo only, if my memory serves me right.

The inner light is just a DRL on the bi-xenon. A very faint light... On the pree facelift it was a 'flash to pass' light

Not sure that is right - OP and Jackthehat have Coupes, which only came along after the face-lift!

I concur, the inner light does not illuminate with main beam on my 08 coupe. I can't test if it comes on with the flasher though!
