Coolant Level

Post by gmaster » Thu Apr 23, 2009 7:03 pm

This may sound a little stupid.....but today I was giving my car the once over and noticed the dip stick / pop up thing in the radiator top up area was low (below minimum). I have had no lights blink on the dash.

Simple question: How do I top this up whilst keeping the corret mixture?

Thanks in advance.

Mix 1 part of water with 1 part of anti-freeze and then pour the mixture into the radiator to maximum level.

Thanks for the reply.

Should I use a particular make or type of anti-freeze?

BMW brand. Don't use other brands. BMW coolant does not need change at all (for life).

Its probably only a little low, just add some clean tap water to make the float bob up to the mark.

The bmw coolant comes in a 1.5 litre bottle, anyone near me is free to use some
Silver Grey 2007 Z4MR which needs to be driven more  :P  :D
