Reset the windows

Post by sp3ctre » Mon Jun 25, 2007 4:23 pm

If your windows aren't behaving correctly try this.

Turn ignition on

Push the open window button until the window is open, then keep it presses for 5 seconds longer.

Push the close window button until it is closed, then release.

This should reset the memory on the window. Same procedure for both windows.

I am afraid to try this as it may turn on my washing machine or reprogram the garage door opener!

Reset the windows

Hello,

Just adding a post as ive had a fair bit of faff trying to get this to work which i did finally.

My symptoms was passenger side worked fine, top works fine, just driver side manual up didnt work, it would only go manually up in the auto up position. I had a flat batter recently which seems to have caused it.

In the garage, battery tender connected, engine off but ignition on, doors closed.

I tried a few things to no avail:

Auto down, followed by 4 further down pushes in quick succession followed by auto up and hold at the top for over 2 seconds and repeat.

manual down, then auto up and hold for over 2 seconds and repeat

Open hood on the key
close hood with the key in the door
repeat x 2

in mid down position, hold manual up button for a few seconds and repeat in different positions

Eventually what worked for me, having already tried it before was:
Auto-down all the way and hold down for 10 seconds then auto up all the way and hold for 10 seconds, repeat.

Voila, working. I had already done that before with no luck.

Basically keep fiddling until it works.
