Flashing Hazard Lights on Z4

Post by ZetaTre » Wed Apr 02, 2008 10:43 pm

I'm going through the same thing with the Z3.
So I might as well ask the question for the Z4: is there a way to have the hazard lights blink or the car beep (or something else) when you lock/unlock the door. Our Z4 doesn't have the alarm, just the keyless entry. Thanks... I hope I don't have to rewire this one too...

Yes, the side/front/rear turn-signal indicators flash upon lock and unlock. :)

Ovrkll, what year did BMW start that? Or is it a coding issue.

My Z does NOT do that and I wish it did.

Does the clown nose under the rear view mirror flash when you lock the Z4?

My 04/04 build does the side/front/rear turn-signal indicators flash upon lock and unlock.

I think you need the alarm to make it flash.

Yes its a coding issue. Not related with the alarm. But can be coded only in BMW shops

 Great guys thanks!!!
As I said we don't have an alarm and the hazard lights don't flash upon locking & unlocking, nor the light under the mirror blinks. All the car does is locking the doors.
Hon, add this to the list of things to have checked today...

Yea, but it won't make any sound. To make it scream at you you need the alarm.

Of course... They don't do much anyway.
They're not much of a deterrent when you here one going off ever 10 min.
People just ignore them.

Ok, so my wife just called me from the dealer (Bretch BMW in Escondido) and the service manager said that the hazard light don't flash and the red light doesn't blink UNLESS you have the alarm. I sent an e-mail to BMW to get the ULTIMATE answer, but I trust you guys more then Bretch... I'm starting to get seriously :headbang: :headbang:
