Soft Top manual release.

My 2003 Z4 2.5 soft top will not release using the console switch. The top is in the up position. It closed normally about a week ago but since then it will not open. I have checked all the fuses. I tried manually unlatching the top with an allen wrench but have had no luck. Also, I have pulled the hydraulic release in the trunk but have had no luck. Am I missing something?
