Cotswolds meet August 08, anyone fancy it?
Not sure where everyone is located, but I'd be up for organising a Cotswolds run (Warwickshire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire area) if people fancy it?
There are some great roads round here, I have a couple of good routes from my boxa.net days, both of which incorporate the old Top Gear test routes (if anyone remembers them nearly getting airborne over a railway bridge and then launching up a steep hill for example, that's on the route.. pilotwings are optional..!). There is also a fantastic first/second gear set of switchbacks that can be very entertaining for those of an oversteery persuassion!
Seriously though, I will set the thing up to take account of different speed preferences, with lots of stops to get the group back together, so everyone should have a good time regardless of how quickly they want to take the day (or how bad their hangover is!). If anyone is local, knows the roads and fancies being the tail car that would be good too.
I haven't organised one of these things since the widespread availability of satnav, but I figure it must be fairly easy to make a POI file that lays out the route? Anyone tried this?
So.. anyone fancy it, I'm thinking maybe early August time?

I'd love to join but of course August puts it bang in the middle of the UK holiday season, school holidays, etc.
I for one will be found in the Andalucian region for the first half of August
Next time maybe

8th might be problem, but keep us posted as may be able to.
I used to go on the Cotswold runs on MINI2.com when I owned MINI's. Great roads around there although some of the smaller roads the MINI runs went on wouldn't be too Z4 friendly!! Well, I wouldn't want to take my Z4 on them!!

I think August 08 refererred to the day in the month and not the year.......bigshurv wrote:Has/did anything come of this?. I bet I've missed it!!!!!
