The road from Bala to Trawsfynydd is one of my favourite roads.Watch out for camera vans on the outskirts of Bala and Ceriydrydion.
Hope the dry weather holds out for you.
agreed on the bala road. Also, the scenery has a bit of New Zealand about it. A bit timeless. :)
Why is it that people who can't take advice always insist on giving it?

Had a top day today in Snowdonia
Image

headed south to Bala from our overnight stay in Llanarmon (The Hand well worth a visit for both food and stayover )

Image

Some great roads & rugged scenery ,in parts very reminiscent of the Lakes but with minimal geriatrics in Honda's which was a bonus

Image

Llanberis pass didn't disappoint , very "glencoe" i thought :?

Image

staying over tonight in the picturesque "Beddgelert"

Image

more of the same tomorrow with Blaenau Ffestiniog & the Evo triangle on route home

Glad the weather held! I used to do a loop of the Evo (after the B5105 from Ruthin) and a few of the smaller B-roads on the other side of A5 (B4406, B4407, B4391) if I'd had a rough day in work and needed to clear my head; though the road surfaces these days are far worse than they used to be after a string of bad winters a few years back!

Quick one for those who know the area , tomorrow we head home from Beddgelert , would you recommend heading via Llanberis & Capel Curig road to the Evo triangle or head east first then via Blaenau Ffestiniog ?
Bearing in mind i did the route up to Llanberis pass this afternoon ? although id happily repeat it :) :driving:

Llanberis to Capel Curig is only about 5 miles , but a wonderful 5 miles. Infact so wonderful that we turned round 3 times and just kept repeating it !! Therefore, just do it., turn around and come back again having learnt the road and picked a quiet gap. It's sublime Andy.

Then just head off to Blaenau to th Evo.

Well that was most enjoyable :driving: almost 400 miles in total & have to say easily as good as the 2 roadtrips ive had in Scotland where it took 650miles just to get there & back
Scenery & landscape really is worth seeing from behind the wheel , if anyone was considering a easy 2 days driving holiday then do it .
Can recommend staying at The Saracens Head in Beddgelert , its literally 20mins up the road to the Llanberis Pass
The road yesterday from Bala to Beddgelert also a treat & very reminiscent of the Cairngorms in places
The Evo triangle also worth the visit , a little slow to start as you leave the main road at Pentrefoelas but it soon comes to life :) :driving:
2 speed vans on route this morning though so worth watching the numbers unless you go round once to suss it it out first
Anyhow i can't see that being my last jaunt over the border to Wales , really enjoyed it & only 80 miles from home to where the fun starts

Quick stop this morning to look back at Nant Gwynant heading up Snowdon to Llanberis

I'm sure you found a great road just after that one on the way to Capel Curig too..

Some great tips here chaps, thanks. Off to Anglesey circuit next sunday, driving up through snowdonia on the saturday roughly along this route. https://www.motogoloco.com/map?route=28592&key=dad2e8cc any suggestions welcome.
Did the evo triangle and anglesey a couple of years ago when I first got the car and have been itching to go back, for the circuit mostly but there were some fantastic roads. Didn't go through snowdonia last time so looking forward to that. Will probably skip the evo this time, sounds a bit hot these days.
