Holy Island and Blanchland in sunshine!

Post by paulgs1000 » Tue Oct 04, 2016 10:30 pm

Sammyz let Steph and me know he and his wife were staying up in Northumberland - would we like to meet up? One of the lovely aspects of the forum is meeting folk on runs who then become friends through a shared enthusiasm. (I think John just wanted to check on his M)
Met up for a meal and brilliant night at the Northumberland Arms at Felton and then on Sunday, a run out to Lindisfarne (Holy Island) for a three hour wander followed by a transit south with a little bit more enjoyable roads at the other end heading for the Lord Crewe Arms at Blanchland.
Always a pleasure to meet up and show off Northumberland. We had a terrific day - thanks you two and see you soon. :driving: :D

We were able to help out by taking some of the bags and then we could both have our roofs down. That top photo was when John was setting off back home so all back in his E89 and the roof had to stay up. :(

Oh yes, beginning to feel that the M is ours - really enjoying each run out and revelling in it's capabilities more - even the sports exhaust which I look forward to now   Needed that period of adaptation. :driving:

Oh yes - and make sure you get the right year when looking tide tables up on line, easy to make a mistake.

Gave the M a heck of a pressure washing over the body and underneath when I got back mind. There were a few puddles of sea water that couldn't be avoided
Think I ended up as drenched as the M

Had a great weekend meeting up with Paul and Steph. Lovely to see the M again, sounds epic from behind  Also caught up with Craig and Cheryl on Saturday and Sunday and Craig was driving very sensibly with baby Craig on board! :D

Northumberland was kind with the weather, fantastic part of the country.
