Ultimate European Roadtrip 2017

Post by NeilMick » Mon May 15, 2017 10:18 pm

Hello fellow forum members!

As well as being a Z4 owner for a few years now I also run a road trip events company which has a few remaining places on our trip through Europe this year from the 1st - 8th July.

You can read more about it on our website https://ultimateroadtripcompany.com/ as well as checking out our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/TheURTC

We include the following in the price:

• 7 Nights Hotel Stay
• Breakfast Every Morning
• Overnight Parking
• A Printed Map Pack
• Sat Nav Route Files (Co-Pilot, Sygic, Garmin, TomTom, Navigon)
• Vignettes for Austria and Switzerland
• T-shirts, Sticker Packs & Wristbands
• Professional Photographer

I would like to offer a group buy discount to the forum constituting the following. If you can arrange 3 bookings between you (1 booking is a team of 2 people) a discount of 10% plus an additional £100 off per team will be given off the advertised price of £1990 reducing this to £1691.

If you have any questions feel free to ask and I will answer them as best I can

Thanks,

Neil

£1.7K? :o

I don't mean to sound dismissive here and I genuinely don't want to sully what otherwise looks like a great idea with my inquisitiveness, but could you give us some sort of specific breakdown for where the £1.7K will be spent as I'm struggling to see the applied-value?

Looked at the website (very slick  ) but as far as I can ascertain additional expenses for UK participants (for 2) would be Ferry/Chunnel from UK, petrol, lunches/dinners, easily taking the end total cost to circa £2.5-3k!

We have done all of those roads in the past and will be leaving on the 1/7/17 for a 16 night Trip taking in Moselle Valley 3 nights. Black Forest 1 night. going through the Klausenpasse enroute to Austria to visit the James bond restaurant at Soleden then a 3 night stay at Fugen Austria. 3 nights Half Board Livigno Italian Alps after doing the Stelvio (again) then 2 nights Ulrichen on the Furka passe. Cost approx 1.5k for everything except fuel and food for 2 people. I know your company needs to make a profit from these trips but i do think the price for a 7 day trip is a bit on the pricey side.
It maybe an idea to put up the Hotels as i know these can be very expensive and would give an indication of where the money is being spent.
We may see some of you Enroute to our trip

Thanks for your feedback it's all useful :) without getting into specifics and going away and totting up every single item I would say our costs are at least £1100 to put this together. As you say we do also need to make some money for the time we put into it.

Compared to some of our competitors we are actually extremely good value. Could you arrange everything yourself and save a bit of money? Sure, but that's not always the case for some people who would rather turn up and just enjoy the driving experience.

It would have been more attractive if you'd done a deal with the hotels and included dinner & breakfast in the overall price ... as it is maybe the unknown quantity is putting people off. A 'complete' package would have been better.

We do include breakfast in the price as this is usually a fairly standard offering in most hotels. However the locations we visit have many different restaurants to suit varying tastes and I'm not sure offering a meal at the hotel would mean experiencing the best certain cities have to offer.

We are looking to include more in the one we do next year but as this is our first time selling the trip to the public we are trying to get a feel of what does and doesn't add value.

im interested on one of these trips for next year so will save the web address.

For me i like the idea of everything being booked and organised, as this will be my first full euro road trip or organising the best routes and roads to drive, plus hotels puts me off.

This way its all sorted, and you will be experiencing it with other people.
