Anyone going to the Kop Hill Climb this year it's on September 16-17th.
Tickets are £10 on line before the event or £15 on the day, I'm thinking about going on the Saturday.

Nope won’t be there this year. We have actually fixed the gearbox and other problems with the supra. If we had got mine done we would have both been there this year. But sadly not. We will be working on cars all that weekend.
My little blue zed is in lots of bits. With lots of things started and not many finished! I may have found the limits of my time and ability!!

Not a problem Matt, doesn't look like there are any other takers for one of the best speed related events around. I thought we had a few petrol heads on here...to busy polishing their cars

Due to work commitments, I can only do Saturday, hope the weather is good. It was my 1st time last year and I had a silly grin on my face most of the time, it was down to the mental sound track from some of the cars.

I've been to this most years since it started and like JimsZ I usually wait to see which day has the best weather and then decide. A useful tip for anyone going - Go in the backway via Brimmers Road if you can because the other way can be subject to delays when they close the road to allow competitors to access the hill.

Nearer the time, we will see what the weather is like and if Saturday is best (only day I can go) we could meet up...at last

There's a plan! I like the fact that this year you can use your advance ticket on any day.

Interestingly (I think), the record for a car up Kop Hill was set in 1922 at 26.8 seconds. I've been up there a couple of times in the zed and got no where near 95 years later.

Can't remember now as it was a few years ago. I just remember at 26 secs I was no where near the top :D. The road is quite narrow and there's a chance something could be coming the other way and so it's difficult to give 100% but even so. :o My neighbour had tried it the year before in his Vauxhall VX220 and had a similar result to me. If you're passing give it a go. :driving:

My mother in law lives in Great Hampden and I have driven it many times over the years...even in a fire engine :)
