I can see both ends of the spectrum on this forum...

I love seeing my car dirty, streaks , covered in flies and brake dust over the wheels and body. A couple of hours of cleaning each week and the look is rewarding too.

I hate a dirty car tbh & I am for from an obsessive detailer, I clean my car once a week & wax it maybe twice a year, but I just love the look of a nice clean car & enjoy driving it more when it's clean :driving:

clean over dirty for sure. even on the old frontera 4x4 I ran for a while looked better clean

on the front of detailing I am still out. I spent a shed load of time doing my car and I didn't even touch the inside. for me it was worth it. the day after I was at work and my institute manager stood in the car park gobsmacked mouthing "nice car" at me.

then the weekend after I gave it a quick wash. literally snow foam and rinse just to get the dust off and it came up like I had washed it. the dirt fell off! but the flip side was it took me several afternoons to do it.

I have noooooo idea what you're on about

I will not be 'detailing' my car again in the way I did recently, but as above I do love it looking sparkly. TBH most of the time a simple wash once every two weeks in winter gets rid of my twitches. I wash it more in the summer as a dirty car stands out in the sunshine, especially a black one.

Bit OCD here, I stuggle to put her away dirty. If I've been out for a romp and so much as driven through a puddle, then I'll clean the car before she goes back in the garrage. Only place I don't clean regularly is the engine bay. But then it stays prety clean under the bonnet any way.

One execption I have yet to need to clean the roof. :D

Having just spent over an hour cleaning exhausts I'm not on the dirty side of this...

But the photos in Evo last month of the Aston Martin Zagato in Evo last month on the glenshee road were brilliant and the car was minging...

Some great photos on dean smith Flickr feed

I much prefer getting the car out of the garage when its gleaming.... especially with mine being black. The car looks amazing when clean.

However, that said, I love a good thrash down a country road, and I'm not scared of getting it dirty

Definitely at the clean end of the spectrum though

I'm OCD with my cars, but much better than I was, I'm chillaxing as I'm getting older, I used to polish the brake pipes on my 240Z

Still like a clean car though, happy to be caught out in the rain, still can't contemplate getting it out of the garage in the rain though, sad I know, I do smile at myself, often :)

Much prefer driving her spotless & gorgeous, but still have a blast driving her dirty!

Ok, that just sounded weird...

Car washed and QD'd twice a week,Usually Tuesday and Friday..Maybe on a Sunday morning as well to if we go out for something to eat.

Interior and carpets cleaned every Friday.
Tyres washed and Megs gelled every Friday.

I love your attention to detail Darren  nothing wrong with taking pride in your motors & the results speak for themselves. :)

Thank god am not on my own :)

I find cleaning the Zed fun and enjoyable, plus the "Before and After" results are really satisfying.

Having said that, I sometimes leave it for a while between washes. It is a car after all - it's for driving, not just cleaning!

An interesting article though.

The only time I'll bother washing a car is when I'm about to sell it! I struggle to imagine a worse waste of my time ...
