Nice, did you split the chrome rings off and spray separately or leave them as one?

Hi Stuart,

Cheers pal  no I left them together, didn't see point in splitting them. Gave them 5 thin coats leaving 30 mins in between, turned out really smooth and even also, so thumbs up to Rust-oleum for aplication. The test will be how it wears.

Cool is that similar to that paint you can peel off ?

I bought a spare set off another member then split them gave them a coat of plastic primer then 3 coats of satin black, and as you really pleased with the results for a first time.

Same kinda stuff as plastidip can peel off later.....or so it says. was ยฃ9.99 in halfords, couldn't find anywhere that sold plastidip off the shelves only over Internet.

Looks good Stuart

Was thinking of changing the badges to black & white now to match as I've got gunmetal wheels also. There's a guy who's selling them on an auction site a pack of 7 for the wheels, bonnet, boot and steering wheel ยฃ15. Only trouble is the side repeaters, can you change them? Do they clip off like bonnet??

The side repeater ones are fixed with a ring of double sided tape.

Ok cool, I wonder if they are the same diameter as the bonnet badges or even the wheels if so I can buy a couple extra and fit them on. I will measures them tomorrow. Cheers

Very easy, just grab the grilles, lift them upwards from the bottom as though you were trying to push them skywards and then pull out from the bottom half first towards you. If you lift them upwards with the right amount of force they will come out easily.

I actually found refitting them more awkward because the plastic trim inside the bonnet was worn and it was very fiddly to get them to clip back in. Basically the process is reverse of the above but you have to make sure its properly clipped in everywhere, which was the fiddly bit (getting them clipped into the upper most part mainly).
