Z4 wrapping project
Thought I would start a thread so I can upload progress pics as I go . This is the first full car wrap I'm taking on solo so I expect to learn a hell of a lot in the process . I started off looking for the cleanest standard z4 I could find for not much money and seem to have found a lovely example . I've had to buy 2x infrared lights that kick out 2500w to heat the double garage so the vinyl is workable , this was fine until I found it blows the electrics every time there on haha . I'm using MDP vinyl at about £17 a metre and expect it to take between 12 and 14 metres . Pics so far

Nice project and well done for giving it a go
I have to say that having applied small areas of clear 3m vinyl on bumpers, sill kick areas and the boot access on several of my cars I'd be wasting acres of the stuff on a full wrap, actually I wouldn't do it. As Dirty Harry said, "a man's got to know his limitations" and I'd have limited patience with that stuff!
Keep us updated I'm sure it's going to look good

So far so good. Is the gig a can of Stella for each panel?

I'm not the most patient it's just in your head how much the vinyl is that stops you ripping it to shreds hahaEwazix wrote:Nice project and well done for giving it a go

Cool project, looking forward to the result.
One thing I've wondered, can you polish it, and is it a gloss finish or semi-gloss (doesn't look glossy?)
Okay, that's two things

I think there's special polished for the vinyl however if you like detailing cars vinyl prob isn't best . The gloss wraps and slightly less shiny than paintenzed4 wrote:Cool project, looking forward to the result.

Great pics
One thing I've always wondered with wraps, is how do you cut it without scoring the paint beneath?

Most of the time you try and cut at angles so your not touching the paint when there are areas you have to cut on the car you can mask underneath or just be extra carefulno fit state wrote:Great pics
