Meguairs glass cleaner and microfibre fluff

Post by LewisB » Fri Apr 07, 2017 7:16 pm

Evening all,

I recently used Meguairs glass cleaner. I sprayed the solution on to the Windows, wiped with a new microfibre cloth, turned the cloth and buffed/wiped again.

The next day when driving into the sun I noticed lots of very tiny particles of fluff on the windscreen. It was almost distracting and made the windscreen look dirty.

Am I doing something wrong?

Probably not buffing it off enough or your cloth is leaving bits behind as it goes. If its a new cloth sometimes they moult a bit.

Yeah probably a poor quality microfibre. I get the same with microfibres I've had from screwfix.

Yes you need a lint free cloth. I get this issue with microfibre cloths esp those that are new.

Or maybe put your cloths through the washing machine first (no conditioner though).

Thanks for all your advice. A change of cloth or wash them first is the way forward!
