I bought a pair of e46 sport seats and have just fitted them. Unfortunately they smell like a scrap car smell. You know the smell. The one where the car has sat for months, a bit stale. How do I get rid of it?

Mmmm, perhaps a clean and feed leather restorer - not sure if you can get ones that work a fresh smell into the leather. Other than that I guess just drive the car a lot with the windows (roof?) down.

Issue won't just be surface but also inside matting and foam etc
Only time and air will fix this but you could try using an aircon cleaner can which is designed to kill bacteria and malodours.
You just set it off, close windows and doors and leave it to do its thing.

Take a look at this: http://onaonline.com/
I've used this in a house where someone died and wasn't found for a while, also in a car that had previously been smoked in. The results are impressive. Otherwise if you can leave it in this hot weather with windows down I think that'll help properly dry it out and get rid of the smell.

Search Ammo NYC on YouTube. Larry recommends you need to steam the seats to get them really clean before applying treatments
