Interesting thread, some great bikes out there!!

I've been looking for a bike for a while now, but just can't decide what I should take... I'm looking for my first bike (I have driven my dad's 125cc before) so not too big engine (500 to 850 or so).

Here's the issue, lol:
- I quite like racers but they're expensive.
- I like naked bikes, but often they do not look sporty enough.

I also don't want to spen a lot (max 800 euros or so) because I already have the Zed and a company car, so won't be riding it very often anyway...

Anyway, I'm in between getting an older racer in good shape or an older racer mechanically in good shape but for which the body needs attention or create a cafe racer/streetfighter out of it...

Maybe something like this:

Yep - I'll hold m my hand up as a biker too.

I've recently sold my Ducati 848 and am downsizing to a Ducati Monster 696 when I can find a decent one with Termigionini exhausts already fitted. Wasn't getting out on the 848 enough an was a little intimidated by it so going back to biking basics with the Monster to just get out and have some fun, on bike worth half as much with a lot lower insurance costs.

Have previously had a Chinese 125, Honda Hornet 600, Honda Blackbird (awesome), BMW F800ST (OAP moment) then the Duke 848.

:o Exact same?!

I know I'm waiting for delivery but not from France!

I'm now a sucker for Ducatis, just love them.

Not a biker myself but always had them in the family.

I often think I should take my test and get one.

Anyway, here are few of my dads recent bikes.

Loving the vfr400 there, NC30 I believe.

Fantastic little bike and a brilliant engine!

Given that we have so many forum members with bikes, and the weather is awesome, who'd be up for a meet / ride?

I'm based in Farnborough, Hampshire but happy to travel!
