Wash your mouth out. Second best car Bangle ever signed off.
When I was a finance manager at a Fiat dealership back in the late 90's, I had about half a dozen of these as my demo's. Last one being the Special edition (they had all been 20v turbos) What a car at the time!

I agree, I loved mine (I had two of them), both 20VT. It was the Fiat Coupe that started my love for trackdays and competition, car forums and even my career! I still visit FCCUK from time to time.

Moving on from Nickis MR2 we were looking for something a bit bigger with a bit more power and started looking at Mitsubishi GTOs.
Found one fairly local and almost done a deal using the MR2 as PX.
The car had had a bit of work done to it with fancy adjustable shocks and wheels but needed a bit of work to tidy it up.
The test drive was awful, suspension far too hard, looking around the interior there was bits missing that I thought I could purchase later if the price was right but the deal breaker was at the end of the test drive... it wouldnt go into reverse. The seller showed us how to do it but it was a bit hit or miss with him forcing it in and now and again it would jump back out of gear.
Looking back it would have been a mistake at the time so the next week we traded for a Hyundai Coupe.
Still like seeing the GTOs on the road, I think they look pretty cool.

My best friend paid £22k for one back in 2005 and sold it 8 months later for £10k, 6 months later and they were £6k ..shocking

ouch - that's gotta hurt

Almost bought a Fiesta XR2i MK3 back in 1999(ish). So pleased the salesman didn't accept my offer. The following week I bought my first 205GTI 1.6 - later upgraded to the 1.9. The best cars I have ever owned.

2.0 T Spark Lusso Alfa GTV.
Test drove it for half an hour and was glad to give the keys back.

I know you can't say you're a true petrol head until you've owned an Alfa but I am certainly glad I walked away from the dark blue one I drove.

Tried my mates MK2 and MK3 XR2I's as well as my brothers XR3I back in the day. So glad I had my 205 GTI 1.9! Cost me a bloody fortune though in repairs and performance mods.

I went through a stage of thinking a Citroen 2CV would be a laugh and fun to own . . . . . I was pleased to see, years later that Chris Harris actually owns one.

Well all I can say is - try one before you buy . . . . I was shocked! And didn't bother buying

Styling might have been on the money but the build quality and frequency of things failing.
Don't know what you mean. In 10 years of ownership, mine cost me just less than 22k in repairs. Not including normal running costs. :P

I'll take the rose tinted specs off one day.

I almost bought an rx7 a good few years ago actually won an eBay auction but was on holiday at the time so arranged with the seller to pick it up when I got back fortunately there was the delay because in the meantime the engine went pop

Ended up spending the money on a skyline instead loved that car even though it was a non turbo r32 gts25 was quicker than anything I'd ever driven before and always got attention from petrolheads
