My Possible New Car?
My mate had a Dakar M coupe for years..
I loved it,proper nice thing with low miles and he PX'd it cheaply for a Phoenix yellow E46 M3...
The next guy took it to the ring and rattled it down the armco and repaired it with bog and elastoplast

Go for it Carol as they will only keep going up in value although the S54 version is the one to have. I was offered a 13000 miler around 3 years back for 12K in estoril blue and thought it was expensive at the time but values have shot up since They're not worth what people are asking for them as they never handled that great with 80s underpinnings and that fiery engine, but still a great car and getting scarce in nice condition.

Nice if you like yellow cars - which clearly you do! Not sure that I'd go for a Z3 over the equivalent Z4, but fortunately we're not all the same!
///M Roadster. 2007 Black/Black. Rear spoiler, whippy aerial, mud flaps and gimp-style wind deflector!

Very nice - saw three matching yellow Z3s at ZedFest in the summer they parked together in the corner of the field:

Go for it Carol, you only live once. I do like the M version of the z3 and prices are on the up so should be an investment.

I went to see a Dakar Yellow Z3 before I bought my Z4 ( it reminded me of my Primrose MG ) unfortunately despite being an approved BMW car it was crap condition.

Get an expert inspection. Lots to check. Vanos, boot floor rust near boot lock, rust on door mirror bases etc etc. But if it's good, do it. One of my few car regrets is that at the last moment at a bmw dealer i chose not to have one.
its the only test drive where ive gone around a roundabout looking through the passenger side window to see whats ahead!

Why is it that people who can't take advice always insist on giving it?

I walked away from a Z3MC I could have bought for less than £8K a few years ago, just because the VANOS was a little noisyZed Five wrote:...One of my few car regrets is that at the last moment at a bmw dealer i chose not to have one...

That'll sting for a bit but sometimes we make decisions for the right reasons.... good thing it wasn't an E30M!!BMWZ4MC wrote:I walked away from a Z3MC I could have bought for less than £8K a few years ago, just because the VANOS was a little noisyZed Five wrote:...One of my few car regrets is that at the last moment at a bmw dealer i chose not to have one...
