I'm with Bluespit,if I really had to,then the Lancia, but would be more interested in mk1 Mini Cooper S,mk1 Lotus Cortina,Lotus Elan,Jensen Interceptor,Daimler Dart, almost all or any of the proper XK type Jaguars, inc V12s......So many wonderful old machines to ponder

I too would love a mk1 mini, or come to that an original fiat 500. My grandfather used to work at Jensen in west Bromwich on the Interceptor, it still looks amazing even now, although I wouldn't fancy paying to run it, don't think my pockets are deep enough.jack07 wrote:I'm with Bluespit,if I really had to,then the Lancia, but would be more interested in mk1 Mini Cooper S,mk1 Lotus Cortina,Lotus Elan,Jensen Interceptor,Daimler Dart, almost all or any of the proper XK type Jaguars, inc V12s......So many wonderful old machines to ponder

Head says Corrado, heart says Integrale.... However it was to be a proper classic car, I'm strangely drawn to the 1970's Aston V8 - the type that George Lazenby drove in On Her Majesty's Secret Service - proper gentleman's express!

Totally agree except with the Clio bit. Should be a vote for none of the abovebuzyg wrote:Don't see any classic cars on the list. Just a bunch of old hatch backs. Maybe a Clio Williams, if forced into one of the above.

I'm probably a bit too old for this as well.
But given that I had this from 1982 to 1984, followed by two Capri Injections I could only vote for the Escort Cosworth (just wish I could afford any of them now)!

I have no interest in classic cars at all other than to look at them. I would never want to own one.
With all the modern technology and comfort associated with newer cars I have no intention of taking a backwards step.
The only upside I could see is less electronics to go wrong so easier and cheaper to fix.
