She ain't new but I still think she's pretty. Picked up a cheap e39 530. It was basically a barn find by the person selling it who did all the legal necessities to claim the car.

Not without her problems :-

Altenator seems weak
Power steering is making a racket and a half
clearcoat peeling on boot/bonnet/top sils.
100,000 miles (not really a big deal)
drivers seat worn
Engine a little tappetty, suspect the clearances (last serviced 30k kms ago and 2 years, has sat mostly idle since.)

Image

Plus sides: One of my fav colours, purpley in the light, blue/black in low light
Fully kitted. Leather, cd changer, wood steering wheel and dash, leather, sunroof, pin code lock from the computer, reverse sensors, lots of other bits and pieces.
Full service history

So deciding what to do with it! I was going to re-sell, but I've love it already and am in need for a daily (which was going to be some sort of depressing hatchback). Semi fuel efficient (compared to the porsche), wafty, and at least in my opinion, pretty in a way that no new cars are to me at the moment

so what would you do? Visually:

Wheels - currently mint but boring
1) have these M3 reps with it which fit (two damaged) so can replace and put on (no it wasn't me who took the photo with the rims on the floor :headbang: )
Image
2) source something even better

Paint faded areas:
1) sand top pillars and attempt to re-clear coat then wet sand the lot - won't be too noticable from afar.
2) respray or replace boot and bonnet
3) sand and wrap boot, bonnet and top rails
4) Carbon fibre boot/bonnet.. Think carbon would look great against the purple; but might look out of place being it isn't an m5 but a 230bhp lump..

Would love a quad exhaust (purely because I think the rear end looks much nicer with the quads a'la M5.. but doubt I'll go that far

any suggestions?

Lovely looking car OP, especially in that colour combination. I'd keep it as a daily!

I may be wrong, but I'm guessing this has an M54 engine in which case it has hydraulic tappets. Any rattling is probably due to it having been sat so long, so an oil and filter change and a bit of use might work wonders!

Good luck with it anyway. (if you do decide to sell and it is a manual with the folding rear seats please PM me)! :)
Coupes because stunning!
Current - Silver Grey MC, Imola Red heated Nappa & carbon trim. Aeros, H & R Coil-overs, 224s, OE Strut brace, Nav, cup-holders, DSP Hi-Fi, pdc, cruise, MFSW, no CDV! E90 330i daily
Gone - Montego Blue
Gone - Ruby Black

I've never really liked 5 spoke (or variations of 5 spoke) designs. Personal preference.

I love the look of those, the white even looks good too, I'm normally not a fan..

tackled some of the issues today :)

Before and patial clean of driver's seat..

Sanded flattened and re laq'd the boot. I'm not expecting this to look perfect but 10 times better than it was.. The aim being to get it good enough to either do for a while, or to take a wrap..
