Alpina Replacement

Gorgeous motor, I love TVRs and almost bought a Chimaera but chickened out at the last minute. A Chim or Cerbera, or maybe even a T350, is definitely on the bucket list though! No matter what people say against them, there's nothing like it for the driving experience imo.
Currently zedless :(

Lovely car. My neighbour had one very similar to yours in a bluey teal colour. No matter where I was in the house I'd always hear it fire up drive off. Epic noise.

Best mod to do is a Manual Override for the Electric Cooling Fans, save a lot of worry when you hit the traffic.

Theatre indeed - had a 4.0 for a short while but couldn't sleep at night worrying about the reliability. Felt like Tom Jones belting out his voice every time I drove it - got the same attention as well - glorious noise. Always wanted to own a V8 - know you'll enjoy it

Lovely car, Ive just made move from Chim to Z4, and agree the TVR always felt more of an occasion. And as well as 3.0 goes, it can't compare with the torque to weight ratio when accelerating in 4th or 5th.

But I'm enjoying the Z4 equally for different reasons, and have some cash back in the bank . Horses for courses.

I've been a long time member of the forum here, starting life with a Z4 3.0si then a few years away before coming back with Alpina 185.
Having owned the car for 12 months and realising i don't use a second car very much at all i decided to change to something that will be a little more of an ongoing project and sense of occasion when out driving.

There was nothing wrong with the Alpina, I enjoyed every drive, however only covering 1,500-2,000 miles a year i longed for something with a little more theatre.

Here we are, 1998 Chimaera. It certainly doesn't disappoint when it comes to theatre thats for sure.
Very interesting. About to make the same move (nearly - ///M to Chim). Would you mind me asking you a few questions?
