Sod the Porsche (even though they do look great) Surprised that no one has taken the opportunity for first dibs on Beedub's Z!!!

Ahem! I think you'll find a few years ago when he mooted the possibility of selling it (or returning it to stock and sell the modifications), I'll called shotgun
Beedub, I think you have to be certain you'll use it as intended and not be worried about righting off Β£85K on a track day. I know you make full use of your Zed, but this is a different magnitude of expense.
I've seen several of these in Sydney being used for cruising around the CBD at 35kph, but I've only ever seen one being revved into the upper half of the range. It would a shame not to exploit its full potential at every opportunity
Z4MC - heavily fettled for track use
Lotus Exige - sensible daily driver on the mods slippery slope
Westfield SEiW - in hibernation
Modified RS4 Avant - back in Blighty
S2000 GT - gone

this is abit of a different scenario.... Porsche wouldn't take a deposit from me at the time.BMWZ4MC wrote: βSat Aug 05, 2017 11:39 amAhem! I think you'll find a few years ago when he mooted the possibility of selling it (or returning it to stock and sell the modifications), I'll called shotgun

firstly i would never ever split up the z4... never. if it ever goes i will take my take and wait for the right buyer which I'm sure will take a long time but I'm certain it would sell, its just too special not to, not to mention its incredible overall condition due to lack of miles secondly the plan would be to run them side by side for a short amount of time to gauge which one to "move forward" with, had the z4 for a decade now and i do want to experience other things I'm not getting any younger, just not at the expense of something i cant really do again or get back. I agree with the z4.. the price point is different and i do feel more comfort using it however i still use it in a specific environment to lower the chances of damage ( timed sprints) and any new car would probably be used the same and hopefully abit nicer to use on a more regular basis, i enjoy the mundane trips in my z4 so much , especially if they are abit further out on a nice sunny day. Its funny I've taken this car to porsche before and they salesmen were blown away with it, lol.... i was quite suprised.
i don't drink or party alot , my enjoyment and hobby really comes from general ownership of these type of cars, even my little ST, wonderful thing to own, really enjoy it and slowly modifying it. ( currently getting more mods i picked up from eBay cheap )
the price of these is coming down definitely , and i think they will even more for abit as the new car is coming... i adore the z4 and it wont be going anywhere soon until I'm certain this is the direction to go as once i make that move i will be in for probably another decade or so.
id use the new car exactly the same as i do the z4 and hopefully alittle more, but id run them together for a short time to make my decision , its the best way to do it, the cayman may just feel ordinary and uneventful and in that case i know I'm at the absolute limit at what i can afford.
my life will always be abit more hectic than most at my age , I'm a lone parent, ingrained in the busy family business that is in a sector thats in trouble , considering how little time i get I'm doing ok with the usage currently and tbh i really enjoy the way i use these things...
however if someone ever wants to talk about buying my z4m i always will entertain that conversation and I'm always open, nothing stays the same for ever.. but some things do come at a price

just got back from solihull....
that colour is definitely not for me.... the car seems very "used" for 8k miles.... lots of scratches, quite a few owners , spec was great but really dont want another car with all black interior it just feels too dull, basically i love the car but that particular one was for me as i suspected...
However... once I've sat down and had a brew ill get into the juicy bits!!
