BMW X3 - 4x4 dsc issues

Post by dans6490 » Mon Aug 07, 2017 7:41 pm

Not Z4 related but I'm hoping one of you knowledgable folk might have some understanding of this.

So on my x3 I had a sticking caliper, today I had the offending caliper, track rod end and droplink replaced as all needed doing.

Picked the car up and on right hand bends I can feel the abs kicking in and the 4x4 light flashing. The 4x4 light comes on permanently after a while and stays on.

I've tried turning the car off for 15 mins but the light goes off but after driving comes on again.

Any thoughts etc appreciated

Probably needs alignment , ive had 2 X3s & they are very susceptible to this sort of issue , even mismatched or different depth tyres can cause similar problems

It didn't do it before today so I thought it must be related to the work done today. Thinking about it, the track rod end being replaced would suggest needing front alignment?? That will be first on the list to check. I'm hoping it fixes it!!

Just spent £850 on a turbo, £280 on a caliper etc today and had already ordered a DLV back box for the zed. May have to hide the back box for a week or so!!
