Random beeps

Post by Nelly Welly » Tue Sep 02, 2014 10:07 am

I know this has been done to death but has anyone actually managed to identify what they are supposed to indicate...

I get random two beeps on initial startup completely random times.

Not worried but it has to have some significance so would like to address it.

Low oil warning? Have you checked it recently?

Definitely not oil. I check it regularly.

It's completely random beeping and I want to try and find out what it is.

When the oil needs attention the beep occurs on switch off. Coolant is ok. Windscreen washer is ok and brake fluid is fine.

At a loss and worried.

I asked the same question in the past and there wasn't an answer as far as I could see.

Didn't fit in with temperatures or oil levels for sure.

Have often wondered it's linked to one of the dash warning lights on start up in certain conditions, but there's so many (and the beeps are so infrequent) that you can't register on time. Maybe one of them is occasionally a different colour, but I never pick it up in time?

Have even considered taking a photo of the dash display on turning the key, memorising it, then when it does beep again one day, hoping I see something! :-D
