At last I have 4 painted calipers. Got the wheels back on having painted the fronts. Spring clips are back on too plus a couple of coats of silver.

Aero side skirts fitted. They've only been sitting in my garage for a year and a half
Coupe, KW coil overs, PSB limiters, Powerflex ARB bushes, 18" CSL reps, Aero skirts, ZHP leather knob, Whippy and proud. Probably needs a wash

Left my Zed in the garage this weekend. 365 quick miles done in my S1000rr. :D
Why is it that people who can't take advice always insist on giving it?

Prep work for NEW SHOES :D

Late last year I had new rotors and pads put on. Sadly I did not specify that thay should be coated and have been living with this eye sore x4

Time to get busy so I purchased a low profile jack and stands and began to go to work on said eye sores. I had to locate my dremel for the inside bits......but back down to bare metal.

Time to mask the pad area off and the car, so no floating bits of spray land and stick to the paint. Total coverage except my work area.
Bolt holes coverd, its time to start spraying.
One coat of primer and 3 coats of silver. Never over spay unless you like runs.

While waiting in-between coats, it seamed like a good time to give those inner wells a good cleaning. Trust me, they were pretty black from brake dust and road grime. The hardest part of the wheel to keep clean.

Wheels reinstalled....we go from this......

To this.......

Other than the callipers, I'm ready to put my new rims on when they get here this week. I'll be all about :D  :P :driving:

Just installed a new Gaptech remote hood module that arrived today.

Hardest part was removing the 14yr old insulation that had partially bonded to the cables. I used screw type conector blocks rather than the crimp ones supplied. Memories of wiring up headunits into ropey old mk3 Escorts came flooding back.

20 minutes of fiddling about and I now have a remote hood and one touch operation. Works a treat, very pleased.

Rustl-oleum Primer and Bright Coat Metallic Finish (silver)
Both cans say not to exceed 200F(93c) and since I only did the Hat areas they should never get that hot since I don't run my car on tracks.

I repaired my hazard light/central locking switch.
Over time the central locking switch was getting more difficult to select, so I pulled the gear gaitor off and then pushed the switch unit out from below.
It seems a common fault on the e46 where the clips at the base break so the switches don't make contact.
I held it in place and taped it up using air conditioning tape (silver tape). All working again.
A nice cheap fix.

Motor in boot. Bilstein B8 dampers. New radio, much better sounds

Those wheels are absolutely hideous, look like plastic Hot Wheels.
