Very similar to the Merc style of afterthought looking screens...

I had a suv I purchased from auction that had one. They look terrible imo. One I had could be removed and used as a tablet. Neat idea but looked awful.

I like the thinking, but the execution doesn't look good. They need a screen that folds back into the single DIN slot. Trouble with a big screen is that you seem to be destined to either block the air vents or the A/C controls :(

Edit: Quick search came up with this from Pioneer - I think this would look better. Single DIN fit, but larger screen that folds back into the unit when off:

Think I will stick with the one BMW fitted, I know there not the best but those type of stereo seem to dominate the dashboard IMHO :)

Yes, but if you don't have built-in nav, you'd probably appreciate a decent sized screen for maps. Guess you'd have to see it in place to decide if it overwhelms the console or not (and don't forget the screen folds away leaving a single-DIN radio head unit).

I have a stand alone sat-nav which works fine for me, I place it just under the rear view mirror :)
We had this type of stereo retro fitted in our work vans and I did not get on with them then. Like I say, I prefer to keep the dash area looking clean Thanks.

Buy yourself a Sony XA1 Ultra with 6" screen and stream it through your stereo. You get a big screen, music player and a phone you can carry round (if you haev big enough pockets0

The screen fixings on the back of the screen can be moved up and down so I think the 8" one would work quite well in the Z4 because you can move it lower to avoid the heater vents and it shouldnt obscure the heater controls.

I had it linked to my phone via the phones mobile hot spot so I could use google maps/amazon music/etc.. worked well, you can also hook up multiple cams as well as DAB radio so kind of future proffed to some extent.

Not sure if he is still there but Rambo from joying is what a custoer service guy should be like, you can ask him anything and he will actually look into it and get back to you very quickly.

I tried a decent pioneer flip out but it looks stupid!

The screen itself is fine but it sticks out from the unit by about 15mm. I'll stick with the standard single din!
