S2000 seats fitted.
As some are already aware I bought some S2000 seats to replace the woeful standard ones.
Took a fairly substantial amount of time to fit as so much measuring, drilling, filing, checking hole positions is required to get it right.
Bought 3m of 60x40mm box section to mount them on.
Used the BMW pre tensioners fitted to the standard S2000 seat buckle mount point. The S uses slightly larger bolts so the hole on the P.T. buckle needed to be drilled out by about 0.5mm IIRC.
Had to remove the 'feet' off the runners and drill out the holes to take some M8 bolts and grind some of the top of the runners out so they could be dropped into the now larger holes.
Drilling all the holes was a pain without a pillar drill, and resulted in a few blunt/broken bits, however only a small amount of 'adjustments' to the holes were needed to make everything line up.
The box section was cut as shown in the pics so the bottom of the seat wasn't resting on it at the rear and to clear some wiring loom at the front, also to reduce the hefty weight of it.
Weight has been reduced by roughly 6kg per seat over standard.
They are considerably more supportive and comfortable than the ones they replace. The lack of electric adjustments isn't something that bothers me, nor is the lack of heating, however it is possible to strip the heating elements out of the old seats and transfer it across.
Including the seats, £48 of fuel to pick them up, bolts, nuts, occupancy emulator and a few cutting disks they cost roughly £250 all in, a not unsubstantial saving compared to buying M sport seats.
Anyway, thats enough waffling, pictures. Excuse the half arsed paint job, the mounts got some acid etch I had lying around, however I ran out of paint half way through.

Look good. You should try and find some rubber grommets to plug the holes in the mounts.

Impressive effort. Buy some black shoe scuff cover to sort that cracking out. Costs about £3 and makes a big difference!
