Productive Sunday
I have had a productive Sunday with the Zed I managed to move the roof motor into the boot myself without taking off the roof which was fun squeezing into the boot at 6.2 is no easy task, the motor housing was full of water so took it all out and dried the housing and foam cut the trim for the rear shelf pulled the wires in and sprayed the motor with electrical cleaner and wd40, my motor was running fine I just did this as a preventative measure, I cleaned and waterproofed the hood gave the car wash and a polish, now time for a beer while I sit and buy all the stuff I need for my service seeing as Eurocarparts has 35% off

Wow that looks like it's very delicate. I don't think I'd like to undo those bangoe bolts

Looks like a very tidy roof, spotless like a fresh laid carpet. As soon as I do mine it gets covered in these annoying floaty white flowers that seem to come out of nowhere.

Yeah I wouldn’t fancy messing around with them, It was quite a tense moment pulling through into the boot was waiting for the snap but luckily all went well.

I thought I was the only one
Keep a lint roller in the boot now, just to keep the damn things off it. They seem to stick on well!

What did you use to clean it? You mentioned cleaning and waterproofing so I'll have a guess at Autoglym?

Yeah I used the autoglym kit but I used a brush instead of the sponge they supply as it wasn’t shifting much dirt

I find the sponge pretty useless too but the rest is good. You've just reminded me that I need to get some more. One last clean I think before winter kicks in!

I use the AG stuff, do you find it makes the canvas harder and more brittle and prone to creasing? Need something to treat it with to keep it supple when folding.

I've done my roof with renovo, AG and gtechniq over the years for "proofing it"
the AG cleaner and the sponge that comes with it is great for cleaning, but as for proofing this stuff reigned supreme tbh, 500ml is enough for a decent coating

I like Gtechniq, I'm using their C5 to seal my wheels after a good clean with Bilt Hamber Auto wash.Ant wrote: ↑Tue Sep 26, 2017 4:53 pm I've done my roof with renovo, AG and gtechniq over the years for "proofing it"
