Poorly sick in bed so thought I'd share some pics of my first Z4. A mint 22k mile 3.0si. It was utterly gorgeous, absolutely pristine until two teenage girls, 17 and 18 yrs old, nicked the 18 year old mums Audi A3, she was learning to drive and let her too young to drive mate have a go, she crossed a junction at 90mph and decided to use me as a dodgem car.
A little hammer work and that would pop right back out.

Your guardian angel was certainly sat on your shoulder that day.
Was anyone injured in the crash or did everyone walk away ?

Hope your feeling better soon John.

Hi Jim,

The 17 yr old driver had a broken wrist but the passenger smashed her pelvis in 5 places, she won't ever have kids apparently, I'm assuming some from my front end as her side took the brunt of it. After hitting me they span, took out a dry stone wall and flew 100ft across a peat bog, landed in it up to the headlights, which probably saved them as it was so soft. Had it been tarmac they might have flipped. It was on the old roman road and the road from Baslow up to Owler bar, their est' speed was 90-100 mph crossing the junction.

3 fire engines, 5 ambulances, 5 squad cars rocked up...!! Bit of overkill but people walking who saw it happen went into hysterical mode...

Lucky the Zed has about ten feet of crumple zone of crumple zone infront of the driver! Another reason to not have a boxster.

I knew someone would......

It was a couple of years ago now Mike, I went to the yard where it was stored armed with tools to pinch some bits off it but I couldn't touch it, cops had it taped off as it was part of a crime investigation as the girls had nicked their mums car.

Wow John, that was one hell of a smash. 3 very lucky people to have survived something as bad as that, looks like it ripped the suspension leg off. Did you need cutting out of the car ? Did you mess your pants :|

Glad everyone was (for the most part) alright, that looks like one hell of a hit! The cabin looks to be pretty much untouched, good to see the safety doing it's job.

Wow that's some damage! I was involved in something similar a few years back but it didn't look nearly as bad as that. I'd say you're lucky to come out the other side but so so unlucky that it had to happen in the first place.
